Expeditionary Construction/Life Support

Bluestone has a long history of expeditionary and engineering services using modern methods of construction. These projects span from singular construction projects and full demobilisation engineering contracts, to full turnkey solutions to establishing base camps and providing the critical infrastructure for complete life support.

In 2015, Bluestone was awarded the contract for the demobilisation of US$180m of Mobile Gas Turbines and all ancillary equipment for APR Energy in Libya.

Bluestone’s long experience of operating in hostile environments requiring such high levels of security was a key factor to securing and the successful completion of the APR Energy contract in Libya. Despite tight time constraints, Bluestone project managed the decommissioning process at two different sites, mobilised a specialised and skilled workforce from various countries, mobilised all heavy equipment, recorded all assets, packed and loaded all equipment and provided logistical support and security teams from project site to port.

One of the most challenging but rewarding tasks was the organisation of the security support required during the transportation of all the equipment which was successfully completed.

Earlier in 2019, we managed the establishment of a housing and life support program for an international Governmental Client in Central Africa. In addition to the design and construction of a 50-person mancamp, this program involved establishment of remote infrastructure to include power and potable water production, wastewater management, food service and a full MWR (Morale, Welfare and Recreation) package.
